Drugged and Detained: China's Psychiatric Prisons

Drugged and Detained: China’s psychiatric prisons investigates how the CCP disappears human rights defenders by locking them up in psychiatric facilities without medical justification. More than 140 detentions were documented through interviews by local NGOs and media from between 2015 and 2021, to reveal a picture of torment and abuse with some prisoners locked up on wards for years. Includes a sketch of the detention ward and hour by hour account of the brutal treatment at the hands of the staff given by a former victim now living in exile.
