(21 October 2019) International human rights NGOs urge the Chinese government to drop the “subversion of state power” charge against human rights defender Chen Jianfang (陈建芳) and release her immediately and unconditionally. Ms. Chen has spent over six months in detention incommunicado and now faces a likely lengthy prison sentence after authorities charged her with an endangering state security crime.

(September 9, 2019) A group of non-governmental organizations have sent a letter to UN members states calling for action at the 42nd Session of the Human Rights Council over the Chinese government’s jailing of many human rights defenders protecting economic, social and cultural rights, and closure of civil society organizations promoting equal protection of those rights.

His work for cases handled while working for Feng Rui law firm constitutes the other two points.
